Forget politics. President-Elect Barack Obama's kids, Malia and Sasha, are rumoured to be entering the world of entertainment.
Knowing they're big fans of "Hannah Montana", the popular Disney show in which his daughter Miley stars, Billy Ray Cyrus has invited the Obama girls to appear on an upcoming April show. That's right around the time the new "Hannah Montana" film comes out. Talk about timing ... and free publicity!
The big question now is: Will Barack and Michelle Obama let them?
"The official Obama line said, 'It's a very generous offer,' " observes Betsy Gleick, executive editor of People magazine, which has been covering the future first family. "We don't know whether they will ever do this. It's kind of hard to imagine, given the way Michelle and Barack are handling their family matters right now."
"They're big 'Hannah Montana' and Jonas Brothers fans, like every seven- and ten-year-old girl in America," Gleick told Early Show co-anchor Julie Chen Wednesday. "Disney is sensing that these are the cutest things out there right now, and they would love to have them on the show."

I think the time for crossover between entertainment and politics is over - we had enough during the election with the candidates being in tabloids and everything and now I think the time has come to separate the two.

Thanks for your post. By offering guest roles to President-elect Barack Obama's two young daughters, networks wants to encash Obama's new found celebrity status.

Thanks for comments. My feelings exactly. I think it's "hitting below the belt" to send an invite publicly, cause those kids are gonna want it BAD!

I hope The Obama's will not let their Kids become Show Puppets and ruin their lives as a result.
