Um, PEP, I don't know two things about this: (1) the extent to which members' integrity is considered essential by NP; and (2) how the members define integrity.
For me, four parts of the code of conduct are crucial here:
NowPublic members will not:
1. Post stories or comments that deliberately obscure their vested interests. By being transparent and acknowledging a financial interest, or by disclosing a bias in your views, you help others to understand where you are coming from.
2. Plagiarize the work of others, fail to acknowledge source material, or use images that belong to others without their permission.
5. Deliberately post stories that are untrue, false, or misleading, or impersonate someone else or make false representations about yourself on the site.
NowPublic members will:
7. Be accountable - take responsibility for your stories and follow up if necessary. Admit mistakes as soon as you become aware of them and make the appropriate corrections.
The biggest problem is that people often forget to think. Therefore, much is unintentional .
I am aware that this is not a new statement.
However, it happens to me that I read something I said later realizing that it could be totally misunderstood although I normally think rather too much.
Then there is what I would call fishing for offensive statements such as is done in politics.
Right?
If talking and writing were so straight forward and would only leave one option for interpretation lawyers would get out of business.
Sure, this isn't what the previous conversation was mainly about. It's rather about blatant exploiting of this site.

But does everyone else subscribe to these?

I would say that most do subscribe to this and that most mistakes may be actually unintentional!
Most thing here could be fixed with some guidance and positive feed back!
That being said, many never read this as well and some do not even know it does exist!

"Nothing more completely baffles one who is full of tricks and duplicity than straight forward and simple integrity in another".
