this is ridiculous. I can't believe some of these reckless irresponsible comments from unverified sources! Nor how you staff ignore favored new users flaming others without consequences.

I had something to say about this. I'll probably get banned. Oh, well.

So far, there's been a whole long thread with just about all long-time contributors weighing in against the new anonymous or mostly-anonymous (make up a log-in name and email) posting, Staffers haven't responded to us there, either.

When it gets down to threatening the President of the United States, it needs tending to. That's what anonymous or "fake anonymous" (meaning make up a couple of details to post) gets ya.

I frankly detest Bush. Can't tell you how much I detest him. But he is the President of the United States, and I respect that office, and I do not like the idea of anyone threatening my leadership. Especially when it's a federal-level offense to do so.

And, of course, that character got to post smoothly. I got caught by the CAPTCHA feature. That's a hint.

Everytime I post a comment with a link, I get stopped by the Captcha feature. Sometimes twice. Sometimes if I email, I get stopped, etc. ;}

No Captcha on my Mac. started to have it, then it disappeared. Maybe any with a hat don't get that. get stopped by 'posted too fast,' and have to wait, but often that is wrong, since it is usually more than 5 seconds since last post.

I used to have a terrible time with CAPTCHA and the 5 second thing! Very frustrating! And I use a mac as well! Maybe the Hat does help!

I've deleted the spam comment here and made a note of the spammers' names with a view to a fix on this.

(Deleting the spam comment also deletes member's replies to that thread).

Rachel, while anonymous or "new" posters are merrily posting spam in comments, long-time members (like moi) can't even comment on their own stories. This morning I got blocked by the CAPTCHA feature every time I tried to respond to someone on one of my stories.

Isn't there a simple way that long-time, well-known members could escape CAPTCHA and at least be able to post comments as easily as "anonymous" and spammers? I finally gave up on individual comments on my story this a.m.

p.s. the CAPTCHA feature tried to block this message, too.

Some noted problems:

1. People are getting email "from" me about "updates" to stories that I've never even seen, commented on, or been involved with.

2. As of this morning, I can not send email or comment on stories without getting blocked every single time by the CAPTCHA feature. Meanwhile, spammers and anonymous commenters seem to frolic freely.

Try the anonymous commet(sic) thingee yourself, you can always 'sign' it. Try: Clear your browser history and clear the cache. see if that helps.

getting email from people about update, that are not there too. Don't know if they've seen them.

weird 'ghosts in the machine' Trojans? still get spinning wheel of death on lost, no reason, not always on the same things. sometines site won't even load.
