Get the widget. You can choose to show the best NowPublic stories or the most recent stories you've posted. Now you and your friends can see the great stuff you've been doing on NowPublic simply by visiting your Facebook page. Your friends can also get in on the action by joining NowPublic and posting into their own feed to Facebook. NowPublic and Facebook: together at last!

With thousands of members in more than 4,000 cities around the world, NowPublic has quite a network of people on the scene of breaking news stories. That’s a lot of people reading the news, sending in their own news or pointing people to stuff they’ve been reading on the web. It’s also a lot of people who’ll see what you’ve been writing. Add that to Facebook and, well… you do the math.

OK, I’m in. What’s this going to look like?

Good question. Right now you can get three different feeds from NowPublic on your facebook profile:

If you choose the Front Page you'll get the 5 most popular stories on NowPublic, as voted by you and the rest of the NowPublic crowd. These stories are still fresh but they've had some time to gather popular approval; it’s something we call “Good Stuff.” In fact it’s the best of the Good Stuff.

Choosing the Most Recent Stories feed gets you what we see from minute to minute. It’s the NowPublic community’s stream of consciousness. If someone sees something newsworthy it shows up here, raw and uncut. Pretty exciting, no? Kind of makes you want to shout, “Stop the presses!”

You can also choose the My Recent Stories option and show all of your friends your latest and greatest news gathering skills. If you have a favorite contributor you can also show their latest stuff.

And just in case you were wondering: this is just the beginning. We're going to continue to develop the Facebook application and its functionality as more folks get on board. Enjoy!

So How Easy Is This to Set Up?

Really easy. You know how sometimes people say it’s as easy as 1,2,3… erm 4…? Well, we really mean it.

1. Click on this link. It will take you to the facebook NowPublic Application page (you may have to log in to facebook);
2. Click on the “Add NowPublic” link at the top right of the page;
3. Confirm you want to add Nowpublic on the next page;
4. Choose from one of our 3 Feeds and save your selection.

   And you’re done. Like the song says, Start spreading the news!
