the people of jaunpur the block adjacent to the hill station town of Mussoorie have felt the need to galvanize under one unit in Mussoorie.the need to create seperate identity has become strong as the migratory population from different region of Garhwal have begun forming their forums.The Jaunpur area provides raw material and act as hinterland for the town of Mussoorie.

MUSSOORIE, 16 Nov: The new working committee of the Aglar-Yamuna Ghati Vikas Manch was announced at a meeting held at Jain Dharamshala, Landour Bazaar, today.
The newly inducted members and the residents of Jaunpur-Rawain and Aglar valley attended the meeting in large numbers.
The meeting was coordinated by Surat Singh Rawat and JS Verma.
The Chief Speakers on the occasion were Balbir Singh Chauhan, Ram Prasad Kavi and others.
The keynote address was delivered by Patron of the organisation, Manmohan Singh Mall, former Nagar Palika President. Manmohan Singh expressed his delight at the formation of the manch and congratulated the newly elected working committee. He also said that the manch should have been formed earlier but better late than never. He added that the Aglar-Yamuna Ghati Manch of Mussoorie should address the problems and issues of the people residing in Mussoorie from these areas. He was also pleased that the Rawain region would also be part of this forum and their issues would also be addressed. He also said that a lot of work could be done through this non-political forum for the people of the area and he was sure that all members would put in concerted effort to work for the benefit of the organisation.
Surendra Rawat, an eminent politician and social worker, said on the occasion that the responsibilities of the newly elected members and officials had increased with the formation of this organisation and social, women empowerment and health issues related to the people of the region should be the main focus of the region.
Surat Singh Kharkai, journalist, said on the occasion that this was the opportunity
to unite and work for a common cause, which was uplift of the region.
Shoorvir Singh Rawat was unanimously elected President of the Aglar-Ghati Vikas Manch.
The newly elected President Shoorvir Rawat thanked all the members on the behalf of the officials and said that the Aglar-Yamuna Ghati Vikas Manch had been formed to preserve the cultural identity of the region and that was only possible only with united efforts.
The Secretary, Bijendra Panwar, said on the occasion that the organisation will work for the welfare of the people of the region residing in Mussoorie.
