As one reflects on history... one sees history repeating itself, without a doubt with this instance of inhumanity, as well as much more that we have been reading about.  We, as a people.. a human race, need to act more, to put a stop to such things... There are ways to make differences...  And.... torture is just not one of them...

DAKAR, Dec. 2, 2008 (Reuters) — Mauritanian security forces routinely torture detainees, using electric shocks, burns and sexual violence, and this has increased since a military coup in August, Amnesty International said on Wednesday.

The human rights watchdog issued a report entitled "Torture At The Heart Of The State" which accused Mauritanian authorities of employing torture as their only method of investigation.

Many of us do have hope, Luiz...  I have actually seen torture, first hand, from a place I have been.. I would like to elaborate more, but can not.. However, I can assure you, that under no circumstances will it ever be admissible.. Thanks for the comment..
