President Asif Zardari will ask the United States, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and other important world economies to pledge a breathing fiscal space for Pakistan by extending $3 to $5 billion in aid to rescue the country’s faltering economy amid growing concerns of default on foreign debt obligations.
Official sources said here Thursday the appeal will come on Friday at the Friends of Pakistan Conference being co-sponsored by Zardari, the US and UK in New York.

hussain, I like this story. It's good stuff.
Y'know, it's funny. When I read the title, I thought it was about the USA's faltering economy... Wondered what the "friends of Pakistan" had to do with it. Now that's irony!

So, when will all the countries the US has extended aid to in the past, at taxpayer expense no doubt, repay those debts? Lord knows, it seems like we could use it these days. =oP

Michael Gmirkin, you are right but only Pakistan and US rulers can answer your questions.
