MUSSOORIE, 20 Nov: The residents of Mussoorie were greeted today by inclement weather, raising the hopes of first snowfall of the season due to western disturbance active in the region.  The weather became extremely chilly and the town was greeted with rains and hail for a few hours. Chances of the first snowfall however eluded the town of Mussoorie. The incessant rain continued till late in the evening, keeping the hopes of snow alive till late in the evening.
However, Nag Tibba, the area of Devi Kol and the Himalayan range were the recipients of fresh snow today. The snow covered mountains presented a mesmerising view to the delight of the tourists. The honeymooners were especially a happy lot at the sight. Mrs and Mr Raj Khanna, a newly married tourist couple from Delhi, were of the view that this was exactly the reason they selected Mussoorie as their honeymoon destination. According to local resident of Mussoorie Vinay Chaturvedi, “With the coming of cold weather in Mussoorie, the residents expect better snowfall in comparison to last year.”
The chilly conditions forced people to take out their woollens. The liquor shops and bars in Mussoorie were the real beneficiaries of the weather, raking in considerable revenue as the tourists and locals thronged for a pint or two.
The cloud cover looked ominous and tourists have extended their stay in Mussoorie in expectation of snow, tomorrow.
