McCain Linked to Iran-Contra Death Squads

Since the McCain/Pallin campaign is trotting out old and very tenuous connections in Barrack Obama's past as indicators of his lack of qualifications to become President, it is only fair then to begin to point out some of John McCain's seedy past associations, in this case with a private group of neo-nazis who supported Central American death squads operating in Nicaragua during the Iran-contra Affair.

GOP presidential nominee John McCain has past connections to a private group that supplied aid to guerrillas seeking to overthrow the leftist government of Nicaragua in the Iran-Contra affair.

McCain's ties are facing renewed scrutiny after his campaign criticized Barack Obama for his link to a former radical who engaged in violent acts 40 years ago.

The U.S. Council for World Freedom was part of an international organization linked to former Nazi collaborators and ultra-right-wing death squads in Central America. The group was dedicated to stamping out communism around the globe.

The council's founder, retired Army Maj. Gen. John Singlaub, said McCain became associated with the organization in the early 1980s as McCain was launching his political career in Arizona. Singlaub said McCain was a supporter but not an active member in the group

Moon, Why is it when I use the term, "Linked" as in Hackers son linked to Democrat congressman, I am told that it is incorrect to do so.  How many degrees of separation is McCain link to the Iran-Contra Affair?  Then there is the Old.. add Nazi in the story.

politisite,

Yup!  This is the smear game right-wingers created and perfected, and now they don't like it when liberals start to play by the same dirty rules.  Too bad.

Where did all the intelligent people go?

Yes because it is a smear to say Barack Obama attended a incredibly racist and radical church for over twenty years.  It is a smear to say that Barack Obama's reverend, Jeremiah Wright, is a supporter of Louis Farrakan ideals and that the two (Wright and Farrakan) went on a mission to Syria together.  It is a smear to say that Barack Obama began his political career along side his neighbor William Ayers.  It is a smear to says that Barack Obama was friends with William Ayers.  It is a smear to say that Barack Obama's campaign gives money to ACCORN which is being investigated for voter fraud throughout the country.  It is a smear to say that Barack Obama twice went after the Born Alive Act while on the Illinois state senate, the first time being to protect Roe v Wade but the second time in 2003, (which was two years later and the bill had an amendment which made it exactly the same as the one passed through Congress) for what? Barack Obama claimed it still had the potential to overturn Roe v Wade, but it did not.  I believe Jill Stanek's testimony and you have to be naive not to.  I do not understand how anyone could think for a second that Barack Obama is a great man and will make the US a great place.  But hey, this is all coming from people who are just proud of this country now for the first time in their adult lives, because we still oppress African Americans right? Yea that affirmitive action is a bitch!
